Pros: Still plays some new games at medium-high settings. The card is finally being used to 'upgrade' my HTPC. It has had a long life and I see it lasting even longer on my HTPC
Cons: Old technology, but how is that really a con
Other Thoughts: I have used this card for almost 2 years with no issues, it runs great O/C with stock cooler. The newer games are just too demanding, and I needed to upgrade.
Pros: Good performance for the money. Fairly quiet.
Cons: Card failed after 2 years and 2 months. This is the only video card out of the 15 or so video cards I've ever had to fail. It would cause system freeze after a few minutes or less of starting. Reinstalled Windows, thoroughly cleaned cooling fan and heatsink and tried in a different system and confirmed the cause of the system lockups was the card.
Like I always do, I had saved the original box and everything it came with. I even put a copy of the sales receipt. Wouldn't you know it, it failed two months past the two year warranty! Oh well, I got two years worth of use out of it.
Other Thoughts: I'm not a big gamer so I didn't stress the card or overclock it. A bit surprised that it crapped out after two years of easy use.
Pros: -Cheap
-Fast
-Reliable
-Easy to over clock
Cons: Its not a GTX Titan
Other Thoughts: Outstanding. I bought this card in 2011 and lasted me since. I played many games on this card such as BF3, Crysis 3, Arma III etc. This card was an upgrade from a HD 4670. I just retired this card for a HD 7950 crossfire setup. This card is good for entry level games but still runes the higher end games just fine at lower resolutions.
Pros: When i bought this card at the time (2011) i was upgrading from a HD 3850 for my gaming pc. the performance was outstanding and played many games on it (playing Crysis 3 right now)
Cons: Unfortunately i have to retire this great card but it has given me it's best performance for someone like me on a budget.
Other Thoughts: Replacing this great card for another great card
AMD HD 7870 GHZ Ed. =D
Pros: HDCP Ready CrossFireX , great for overclocking, good software support, AMD catalyst, does not run hot.
Cons: Discontinued.. I guess its a waste to rate this card
Pros: This card is really high powered for its price, I've been able to max out every single game I've played with no lower than 30 fps (and that was on Crysis, give me a break). It can run Skyrim at ultra settings with the high-res texture pack at 60-70 fps, although some of that may be due to my processor (Intel i5). Overall great card, has never run hot, never broken, and mine even came with a free copy of dirt 3.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Works natively with a hackintosh setup as well, if you flash the bios.
Pros: -Can play most games on high settings at a high framerate.
-Can play play games like World of Warcraft on Ultra at 60fps.
Cons: -Discontinued
Other Thoughts: -I bought an Ibuypower computer from walmart for $350 with decent specs in 2011(4gb RAM, quad core), but with intergrated graphics, once I added this card it became a nice machine for the price.
Radeon HD Series 5770 6770 Specs
The 'new' Radeon HD 6800 series GPUs have 1040 million transistors. Correct, that is 1+ billion transistors tucked away in a small chip. The fabrication node, just like the 5800 series, is 40nm for this product.
- The reference Radeon HD 5770 / 6770 will be clocked at 850 MHz. Its memory is clocked at 1200 MHz (4800 MHz effective).
- The HIS 6770 ICEQ TURBO is clocked slightly higher at 880 MHz and the memory is clocked at 1250 MHz (500 MHz effective).
Shader processors then; similar to the Radeon HD 4850/4870/4890/5770 and now 6770 will have 800 Shader processors, again... same 40nm chip.
The number of ROP units are rocking steady at 16 and sure -- texture units remain at 40 for the 6770.
These numbers are reasonably good, for the money this is a nice entry level product series. Much of the magic is thanks to the fact that ATI sticks to DDR5 for their mid-range and high-end products. On the 6770 they'll crank it down a notch as we get 128-bit memory, cutting the bandwidth in half from 256-bit. However, since it's GDDR5 memory (quad data rate) it will still offer sufficient bandwidth, 80GB/sec of it actually.
But sure the culprit of the 5700/6700 series will be that cut off memory bandwidth, and this is the reason why its performance actually will be slightly lower (on average) than say a Radeon HD 4870.
So HIS delivers the card pre-overclocked at 880 MHz (30 MHz over reference) and the 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 memory clocks in at an effective>
